"My focus is only on choreography and my comments are strictly reserved for choreographers. I see if justice has been done to a song. Suppose if someone choreographs 'Ek do teen' I will only see how well it was handled," Saroj told on phone from Mumbai.
"Malaika Arora and Kunal Kohli are there to judge the performers. My job is to dissect the trainers and not the performers," said Saroj who is a judge on STAR One's dance show "Nach Baliye 2".
The show went on air last week.
Unlike part one, "Nach Baliye 2" started on a sour note. Fiery as ever, Saroj let out a nasty salvo at Shweta Kawatra, the vampish 'bahu' of "Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki" saying, "Your movements are not lady-like."
Shweta was too zapped to say anything.
However, there are some good things, which make the show an interesting watch. Apart from Saroj and Malaika, another commonality between "Nach Baliye" and "Nach Baliye 2" is that almost each choreographer and performer craves for Saroj's whistle and her appreciation in the form of Rs.111.
"My guruji used to give me coins. The maximum amount was Rs.5 or Rs.11. He used to keep lots of coins in front of him and the best performers used to get maximum number of coins. It was fun and when I started judging the show I continued the same trend. However, time has changed so I give Rs.111 to the performers. It makes your life interesting," she said.
When asked about her favourite performers on "Nach Baliye" contests she said: "Last time my favourite couple was Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola. But it was Sachin and Supriya who got the highest marks. I can't say who is my favourite this time because the show has just begun."
She is quite happy with her stint at STAR and has no plans to go to any other channel.
"It has given me both - respect and recognition. I am quite happy with it. And I have no reason to go to any other channel."
