Veteran Indian actor Om Puri will play the late Pakistani military ruler Zia-ul Haq in a Hollywood film with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.

According to contactmusic.com, Om Puri has been cast as the Pakistani leader in "Charlie Wilson's War". The movie provides an insight into the CIA's role in arming rebels in Afghanistan and will discuss the political scenario of that time.

This is not Om Puri's first tryst with an international project; he featured in films like "Wolf", "East is East", "Such A Long Journey" and "The Ghost And The Darkness".
