A petition has been filed in a local court seeking to restrain Bollywood star Salman Khan and four others from going ahead with the commercial release of a film in which the
actor plays the lead role.
In his petition before the court, plaintiff Ravi Walia claimed that he financed the film 'Shadi Kar Ke Phas Gaya Yaar' featuring Salman among others.
Walia alleged that the money given by him to Bubby Kent -one of the producers of the film - was not returned to him.
Seeking a permanent injunction against Kent, Salman and three others, restraining them from processing, developing and release of the prints of the feature film, Walia said
unless the money was returned to him, the film should not be released.
After receiving the summons issued by H J S Tiwana, Sub Judge, Pathankot, Ravi Bhushan Puri, counsel, on behalf of Boby Kent, Salman Khan and three others appeared
before the court and sought time to file respective replies on behalf of the contesting defendants.
Taking into consideration the counsel's plea, the court adjourned the hearing for filing of the replies till November.
