Does she hope to ride piggyback on Don to make the transition from being a ‘good' actress to becoming a legend in her lifetime? Ask Priyanka Chopra and she is humility
personified.
The former Miss World claims that she tried to play Roma's role, played by Zeenat Aman in the original, differently. "I tried that and I don't know how far
I am successful, I think people will tell me that."
Talking to a news channel, 24-year-old hot shot actress who is affectionately called ‘Piggy Chops' said she loved playing the tough chick, action and all. Defending the need
to make the sequel, she said it was done for all Don lovers and Don fans: "It is a presentation to the generation of today a film which was appreciated by the generation
before us so much that it has become a classic. And I hope this will happen to this Don as well."
Saying it was tough for any actress of today to even try and emulate veteran actress Zeenat Aman, Chopra said it was no easy task stepping into a role for a film that went
on to became a classic. "She (Zeenat) was fantastic in the film. It was a cult classic and everybody loved her in that film. It's too much for me to aim at."
When asked whether there was a paucity of original script-writers in Bollywood and hence the spate of remakes, the actress shot back: "I don't think so. So, come October
20 and movie buffs will know how right their lady icon is?"
