Exclusive: How Bollywood in cahoots with Youtube fools the audience?
Ever since the launch of YouTube, the movie industry is raking the moolah with both hands. And YouTube is not lagging in this race. In fact, Alphabet Inc. (formerly Google Inc) who is the owner of YouTube makes Billions from this site. According to musicbusinessworldwide.com, YouTube earned $9bn in revenue last year.

From the face of it, the audience might think that the money is coming just from ads. But that doesn`t seem the case if you see the screenshot taken within a few minutes of the release of the song Oonchi Hai Building from Judwaa 2.

The above image shows that there were 178 views and 1,477 Likes during this period. How can it be possible? Is it that people are liking it even without viewing it.

It`s just not possible. Either there is some bug in YouTube which cannot be the case as their technology team should be of a huge size. So what seems evident from this screenshot is that YouTube is selling not only ensuring views but selling `Likes`.

Yesterday Hardy Sandhu launched his new song "Yaar Na Mileya" and this song got 5.2 million views in 24 hours. How is it possible? It implies that almost every person who hears at least one Punjabi song a day was hooked to YouTube and was awaiting the release of this song. To top it off, this song is nothing to write home about.

It`s not the fault of YouTube or Bollywood, the media is quite infamous for making money through dubious means. And Bollywood loves to play this game to get news and views to get the good collection on the opening weekend.
