Varadraj Swami, Researcher, Dialogue Writer, Associate Director of Manjhi: The Mountain Man, makes his directorial debut with the film Gulmohar. Written by Shahzad Ahmad and Varadraj Swami, Produced by Vijay Bansal & Priya Bansal, Gulmohar is about the atrocities committed on Muslim women in the name of religion. Shahzad, through his pen and Varadraj, through his direction, attempt to unmask the story of one such woman and how she rises from being the victim to one of the most powerful women who sets wrongs right, albeit the legal way. Nevertheless, Gulmohar is just not an average revenge drama. It is beautifully penned and directed, with emotions and when we look at what inspires the woman to stand up for her rights, it will leave you transfixed.
