A report in a trade magazine implying that Rakesh Roshan has put a brake on Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha-Akbar because he isn't happy with the script, has the filmmaker
amused and annoyed.
"Rubbish," expostulates Rakesh Roshan. "I don't know who's spreading these rumours. Far from stopping the film, I'm quite enthusiastic about Hrithik doing his first
historical. I never tell Hrithik which films to do.
Let alone look at the scripts. I don't even know the scripts of Jodha-Akbar or Dhoom 2. Outside the films he does for
me, the entire decicision is left to Hrithik.
And by the way, Hrithik leaves for his outdoors for Jodha-Akbar in the first week of November. So much for the so-called
delay caused by me. "
Rakesh Roshan is right now busy with his next script. "It's the third part in the super-hero series being written by the same team that did Koi..Mil Gaya and Krissh. If
however, it doesn't satisfy me, I'll turn back and do something entirely different.
No one is holding a gun at my head to make my next film. I can afford to take it
easy. The problem is, I'm expected to go higher in terms of theme and boxoffice with every film. I've tried every genre from a friendship flick (Khudgarz) to a vendetta film
(Khoon Bhari Maang) to sci-fi.
Now what do I do? Of course making another super-hero film is very tempting. But I don't want to be in the comfort zone."
