"The launch of these two new serials is just the beginning of the six new daily soaps that we are planning to launch in our channel within the next few months. Apart from these, we are also planning the launch of three new serials in the non-fiction genre like - game shows, talent hunts etc " Shantonu Aditya, CEO, Sahara One Television, told the media at a press meet.
On being queried about his channel scrapping its much-hyped talent hunt show "Superstars", Shantanu said that the shows had not been removed but the format was being reviewed before being re-launched.
While both the new offerings revolve around women-related issues, they promise to be different in their treatment compared to the current trends in the small screen.
"Solhah Singaarr" is the story of a young, carefree girl, Meera, played by newcomer Akangsha Rawat, who belongs to a rich family in Benares. But circumstances force her to transform herself from a dreamy girl into a mature, progressive woman, ready to face life's challenges.
"Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye" revolves around the ages-old debate whether a daughter-in-law can become the daughter of the house. This drama traces the life of Krishna (Gunjan Walia) married into a wealthy household and her struggle for acceptance as a daughter.
