Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi has been charged with abetting the suicide of his former partner actor Jiah Khan, who was found dead in her apartment by her mother in June 2013.

The actor has been charged under section 306, Indian Penal Code, in the case by a Mumbai session court on Tuesday. Jiah in her suicide note had blamed Sooraj for ruining her life.

Sooraj pleaded not guilty in court. Sooraj's father Aditya Pancholi said that the family is not stressed or sad instead we are happy and we are feeling relieved as now we can fight for it and the real trial will begin. If we are guilty, Sooraj will be punished; and if we are not, then Sooraj will be set free.
