Sudhir Mishra's political thriller Daas Dev has made its way to theatre screens yesterday on a great note. Producer of the film Sanjeev Kumar, recently in an interview with a tabloid came upfront about his views on the film releasing alongside Avengers.

The movie ran through a number of release date changes and for strategic reasons, it was pushed by the distributors. Yet the producer is certain that it won't steal the thunder of his film Daas Dev.

Commenting on the same, he said, "My friend and the presenter of Daas Dev, Gaurav Sharma, intervened, and we also got Shringar Films on board. We took a joint decision of releasing it on 27th of April along with Avengers as it still is a way less cluttered date and there is no direct competition. Other than the business aspect, I believe cinema is more than a spectacle. While the grandeur of Avengers is undeniable, Daas Dev still scores above in terms of content as it touches your emotions and is thought-provoking."

Elaborating his views, he added, "The push in release date did perturb me a little. A project that you back and nurture, you would want it to go smooth. That said, not everything can be in your hands. At times you do succumb to external forces."

Daas Dev is a modern-day tale of power, love, hatred and addiction wherein it will leave you intrigued with the reverse journey of the protagonist. Talking about the decision behind taking the film forward, Sanjeev said, "Sudhir's version intrigued me, especially because, quite like Sudhir, I too have seen power from close quarters. I was a serving bureaucrat."

Anurag Kashyap will be seen in a pivotal role showcasing his acting expertise in Daas Dev. Apart from being a talented film-maker, he is indeed a great actor and the producer can't agree to it anymore. Talking about his future projects with Anurag, Sanjeev quoted, "I would want to work with Anurag in future. He is a fabulous director. But I will not take up any project as a mere money-bag. I get as invested in a film as its director so if it's a collaborative approach and a healthy exchange of views, only then will I come on board."

Set against the bumpy political landscape, we are sure that the audience will enjoy Sudhir Mishra's version of power game alongside some intense performances.

Daas Dev holds of a stellar star cast with Rahul Bhat as Dev, Richa Chadha as Paro and Aditi Rao Hyderi as Chandni. In sync with the lead cast, is Saurabh Shukhla will be seen in in one of the most complex roles of his career alongside Vipin Sharma, Dalip Tahil, Deep Raj Rana, Anil Sharma and Sohaila Kapoor. Anurag Kashyap and Vineet Singh will also be seen in special appearances in the film.

Daas Dev, produced by Sanjeev Kumar of Saptarishi Cinevision and Presented by Gaurav Sharma of Storm Pictures is running successful in Theaters near you.
