Anupama Varma was once Preity Zinta`s best friend and the former Liril model even stayed with her at her pad when she first landed in Mumbai seven years ago. A successful model, Anupama was bitten by the acting bug when she found Zinta steaming ahead in Bollywood.

She too started making the rounds of producers` offices with her portfolio and pataoed Ayesha Shroff, Jackie`s beautiful and business savvy wife, to play godmother to her. Her first foray into films got off to a bad start when Grahan got inordinately delayed during which time she lost out on major film offers. While Preity`s career zoomed ahead, Anupama`s insecurity surfaced and assumed a rather ugly form. The two sahelis turned hostile overnight and are sworn enemies now. What gets Zinta`s goat is that when she got wind of her ex-friend`s involvement with the eccentric NanaPatekar, she put aside personal differences and self-pride and called her up to warn her of Patekar`s unpredictable temperament.

Anupama is said to have asked the bubbly actress to mind her own business. Anupama is pleased as punch about bagging Dilip Dhanwani`s Vadh, in which she pairs opposite her current boyfriend. Wonder how long the state of elation will last.
