Noida Superintendent of Police R K S Rathore said main accused Chhatrapal alias Dev was arrested from the 'Pushta Nallah' area in Noida on Sunday afternoon.
Chattrapal, a resident of New Ashok Nagar in East Delhi, who worked in a Mother Dairy booth close to Anant's residence, had hatched the conspiracy to kidnap the boy and earn a ransom.
However, the entire team of the kidnappers were amateurs and had been inspired by a bikers flick Dhoom.
"He had seen the movie Dhoom and since then had been toying with the idea of committing the crime using a motorcycle," Rathore said.
Chhatrapal was an aspiring film actor and wanted to make it big in the Mumbai film industry with the ransom money. "
He wanted to marry his long-time companion and settle down in Mumbai," Rathore said in a press conference where Anant's father Naresh Gupta gave a detailed account of the entire episode and narrated the sequences of the ransom payment.
Police have also recovered the phone from which the ransom calls were made. Chhatrapal's aide Vijay Chauhan was arrested in Panipat in Haryana, police said.
Other accused in the case, Pawan, is still absconding.
Chattrapal is the younger sibling of Jitendra, who was arrested soon after Anant returned home. Jitender alias Bablu was the first one to be arrested in connection with case on Friday.
According to the police Chattrapal had stolen the motorcycle, which he used in the crime, from Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area on November 7. The accused kept on moving in the Western Uttar Pradesh.
After kidnapping Anant on November 13, the accused took the child to Hardoi for one night, then moved him to Etanagar for a day and spent two days in Goverdhan in Mathura.
Gupta who praised the STF for "doing an outstanding job" also had consulted a US based expert team on kidnapping, who had flown here on Wednesday and had observed that the kidnappers were amateurs.
"They told us that the kidnappers were amateurs and hence more caution needs to applied since they would get panicky and could harm the children", Gupta told reporters.
Playing the ransom calls, which Gupta had recorded on his laptop, Gupta said that the kidnappers "had not done the homework properly" since they had asked them to come with the ransom money of rupees 50 lakhs and board the Paschim Express train from Nizamuddin, where actually the train does not stop.
"Anant's uncle Lalit Gupta had immediately left for Surat in an early morning train, but soon he got a call to drop the money at the Meerut station....," Gupta said.
Justifying the need to pay ransom, Gupta said that he had done since for him the safety of the child was paramount and by that time the police had also identified the main culprits.
Both Jitendra and Chattarpal helped their father run a Mother Dairy booth in Sector 15A of Noida, opposite the Guptas' house.
Saturday night, police recovered Rs 47.5 lakh from Jitendra's residence in Kakod village of Bulandshahar district, which was the part of the ransom money.
Earlier, Gupta had said that no ransom was paid despite receiving 10-15 calls demanding Rs 60 lakh for the boy's release. Later, Gupta had admitted paying the ransom as part of a "strategy" to ensure that the child's safe release.
Anant's uncle Lalit Gupta had told a private news channel that the family told the STF that they were paying Rs 50 lakh to the kidnappers and were confident that the authorities would recover the money later.
Anant was kidnapped while being escorted by his maidservant near his home on November 13 by two unidentified motor-cycle-borne men. Anant was brought home on Friday noon in an autorickshaw in mysterious circumstances.
