Model-turned-Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who will be recording her own dialogues for the first time in Hindi films, says that it took some effort to get the accent right, news reports said.

London-born Kaif also lost some weight to get the right look for her modern character in her new film "Namaste London. "I also get to say my own dialogues, though it has taken some time,'' Kaif was quoted as saying.

Dialogues for most Bollywood movies are dubbed, or recorded separately and film makers often use voiceover artists for actors who are unable to emote their own lines.

Kaif, who has a British mother and an Indian father, worked as a model in London and India before she made her Bollywood debut in 2003.

After a couple of brief supporting parts in Bollywood movies, Kaif has begun playing lead roles. Her last major releases were "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye'' and "Sarkar'' . She has also starred in Telugu and Tamil-language films.
