Earlier during an interaction with audiences at Satyamev Jayate's season 3 episode 3, Aamir Khan had spoken at length about the issues the LGBT community has been facing from the society and the government.
Since, India's Supreme Court has struck down a colonial-era law criminalizing consensual gay sex, overturning more than 150 years of anti-LGBT legislation, Aamir Khan took to his social media thanking the government.
We thank the Supreme Court for its decision to strike down article 377. It is a historic day for people who believe in equal rights for all. The judiciary has done it's duty, and now we must do ours. https://t.co/zzxc4kfNxS
