Aamir Khan who has always been vocal about the LGBT community issues now thank the Supreme Court for its decision to strike down article 377

Earlier during an interaction with audiences at Satyamev Jayate's season 3 episode 3, Aamir Khan had spoken at length about the issues the LGBT community has been facing from the society and the government.

Since, India's Supreme Court has struck down a colonial-era law criminalizing consensual gay sex, overturning more than 150 years of anti-LGBT legislation, Aamir Khan took to his social media thanking the government.

Aamir Khan tweeted the Satyamev Jayate video saying, "We thank the Supreme Court for its decision to strike down article 377. It is a historic day for people who believe in equal rights for all. The judiciary has done it's duty, and now we must do ours".

Known as Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the 157-year-old law criminalised certain sexual acts, terming them as 'unnatural offences', punishable by a 10-year jail term
