Few hours away from the tinsel town, Goa has often proved to be a creative haven for writers and directors to jam on their scripts. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri who is basking in the glory of a monstrous hit- The Tashkent Files which is dubbed as one of the most profitable films of 2019, has bagged a book deal on the film. The director is en route Goa to pen his tryst with the subject- getting it off the ground to the cash registers ringing.

Known for his disruptive ideas both on making and marketing, the IIMC (Delhi) graduate closed a plum deal with Bloomsbury publishing on his journey with The Tashkent Files and the author-director intends to lock himself down in the quiet and scenic locales of Goa to see the book through. A chunk of the content of this book will utilize the realms of unused research material from the film, dotted with Agnihotri's personal struggle to get a subject as volatile as this off the ground and turning it to gold.

Speaking on the book around The Tashkent Files, author- director, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri stated, `Mumbai is very distracting. There is too much of ambient noise and visual clutter. I'm finding it difficult to sit still and work on the heap of content that I have to sift through. I have commenced my research work on The Kashmir Files too but this book really needs undivided attention- hence Goa. Need to go incommunicado for a few days`.

Agnihotri made his debut as an author with The Urban Naxals - a riveting saga of a filmmaker's struggle and conviction, the behind the scenes story of the making of an award winning film- Buddha in a Traffic Jam. The director turned author travelled half the world with The Urban Naxals, garnering rave response. It went onto becoming a bestseller and No.1 ranking title under Political Ideologies on Amazon. The book on The Tashkent Files will be Agnihotri's second outing as an author.

Here's wishing Vivek loads of luck on his Goa sojourn!
