A petition has been filed against the film 'Section 375' starring Richa Chadha and Akshaye Khanna. The petition has come from Pune Supreme Court and has sent a legal summon to the actor Akshay Kumar and the producers of the film.
Akshay Khanna and the producers Kumar Mangal Pathak and Abhishek Mangal Pathak will be expected to appear in the court on September 9. Pune Supreme Court has a bone to pick with the team involved in the film 'Section 375' as they depict the daily legal proceeding in a harsh light; particularly scenes involving cross-examining of the rape victim.
'Section 375' is about a celebrated Bollywood director Rohan Khurana (Rahul Bhat) who stands accused by a member of his female crew, Anjali Dangle (Meera Chopra) of having
raped her at his residence. The case draws unprecedented media attention as arguments between criminal lawyer Tarun Saluja (Akshaye Khanna) representing the accused and the feminist prosecutor Hiral Gandhi (Richa Chadha) representing the victim heat up as they produce irrefutable evidence proving their respective client`s innocence
The film is directed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and also stars Meera Chopra, Rahul Bhat, Zakir Hussain, and Atul Kulkarni among others. 'Section 375' will be released on 13th September.
