Shonali Bose's 'The Sky is Pink' was one of the few Indian titles to showcase at Toronto International Film Festival. The movie was received well at the festival and if it wasn't enough, Amir 'Perfectionist' Khan himself has given a thumbs up to the film.

The 'Lagaan' megastar took this opportunity to make his anticipation for the movie well known. On his Instagram account, the actor posted a brief but loving message praising the movie's trailer. Praising the filmmaker Shonali Bose, he posted " I am sure Priyanka, Farhan, and Zaira's performances in the film will wow us." Amir also wished Sidharth Roy Kapur good luck for his project.

'The Sky is Pink' is written and directed by Shonali Bose and stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim, Rohit Suresh Sarat, and Rajshri Deshpande. The movie is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. But instead of surrendering to the disease, she went on to write books and give inspirational lectures at TEDx TALKS about her disease to spread awareness. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 18.

Directed by Shonali Bose ( Margarita with a Straw ) and backed by RSVP Pictures, 'The Sky is Pink' will be released theatrically on October 11, 2019.
