Super 30 founder Anand Kumar gets another feather added to his hat with his most recent nomination for the prestigious Mahavira Award for 2019, given by the Bhagwan Mahavir Trust. Anand, who is presently in the news due to the huge success of the biopic on his life 'Super 30' starring Hrithik Roshan will receive the 21st Mahavir Award, which carries Rs.10,00,000 and a citation.
The teacher, Kumar drafts 30 educationally bright yet underprivileged students into his coaching program each year - free of cost - giving them a shot at the prestigious, highly competitive, and daunting entry exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Anand, the man who leads the 'Super30' initiative so dedicatedly says, `Is a great honour that and it only goes on to further increase my responsibility to continue working for the students from the underprivileged sections of the society. I am really thankful to the selection committee for the award for finding me worthy of the honour`.
Post the success of Hrithik Roshan's 'Super30', Anand has started receiving the recognition that he should have received much before. The film which went to become a humongous success not only highlighted what Anand does but also the struggles he had to face to do this noble deed.
