Punjabi singer and living legend Gurdas Mann is in trouble over not performing at an event in Kolkata. Mann was supposed to perform at a Durga Puja event in Kolkata for Navratri celebrations on October 6th but allegedly he canceled the performance at the last minute.
Due to this, the Durga Puja committee has lodged a complaint against the singer. The organizers' claim is that they had spent 25 lakhs for the stay and flight tickets of the singer and his team, and an advance payment of 12.8 lakhs was also made to Gurdas Mann.
It is alleged that Gurdas Mann, upon reaching the Kolkata airport, was shown a video of the event after which the singer immediately refused to perform there citing that 'it is a disgrace to Sikh morals because people were walking with their shoes on, in the religious event'.
On the other hand, the committee's stand is, that Gurdas Mann was already thoroughly informed about the theme of the event, still, he broke his agreement, and for that, a complaint was filed against him following which Gurdas Mann has requested for time till Wednesday to return the advance payment received by him.
