Deepa Mehta is completely wired-up for the oscars. "Just two more days to go, so I'm nervous! Right now, I'm only concentrating on the accessories for my sari for Oscar night."

Deepa and her daughter Devyani are both donning saris.

She adds, "I'm trying to convince Lisa Ray to wear a sari too. I hope she does. Why shouldn't we proudly wear our own clothes? Why should we get into gowns and compete with the Nicole Kidmans of Hollywood? It's important to be proud of our Indian heritage."

As for the Oscar, she says, "We've done all we can for Water, now let's see what happens."
