And how much more successful can Boman get than kissing Shabana on screen? That's what he has done in Reema Kagti's Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.
"Honestly too much is being out of that kiss. If people are getting ideas of a steamy smooch then they'll be disappointed. It's a wonderful moment in the film when he thinks his life is over. Then he sees his wife, Shabana, and impulsively kisses her...But I'm glad people are playing it up. I'm very proud of it !"
Boman's wife smiled through the kiss. "She was surprisingly cool about it. When she asked me about the kiss she was quite cool about it. I was on a holiday in Greece with my wife when they had a preview so we haven't seen the film. But I'm sure she'll enjoy the film, kisss and all. I'm very happy with film."
Happier still was the moment when Shabana gave him a very special gift. "We spoke about so many things from co-stars to cameramen. She's extremely entertaining and funny. Once she asked me about my favourite poem. I said it was a poem called If....by Rudyard Kipling.
On the last day of shooting I got a gift from Shabana. It's a perfume called If... in a book called If...and inside there's the whole poem by Rudyard. Who but Shabana could manage such a thing?!"
"Shabana did the most amazing thing. She swept aside my awe for her and immediately made me comfortable. We both enjoyed the attention we got from the young men and women on the sets—she attracted the male attention, and me the female."
About the perfume, Boman has made a pact with himself. "I'll wear it only when I visit Shabana. It's the most precious gift I've ever received."
