Ajay Devgan took to the streets and interacted with the crowd who came to watch him shoot for Raj Kumar Santoshi's Halla Bol.

"Ajay plays a superstar who comes out on streets to raise the slogan, Halla Bol! It was quite intense, as loads of people came to participate in the shoot.

They were reacting and participating in the scene to Ajay's dialogues," says Santoshi giving details about the shoot

Interestingly, Ajay was also seen sporting a T-shirt that read Halla Bol.

"The film makes a social statement on public awakening and raising your voice against injustice and corruption." Santoshi quips.

Ajay reasons on why he is part of the project. "I was extremely impressed with the script of Halla Bol, after Rajji narrated it to me.The character excited me. Though the film has a social message, it's not preachy at all. Rajji's films are always great entertainers.

I play superstar Samir Khan, but the character is not based on any existing actor. It is about stars being vulnerable in spite of getting everything they want. Can stars live up to the hype that they have created around them?

Rajji has made a brilliant film with great performances from everyone — from Vidya Balan to Jackie Shroff, and all the other artistes," says Devgan.
