"The wedding rituals started at around 6.30 p.m. and the guests danced to the tunes of a local band," sources at the hotel told.
Nayar, wearing a golden-coloured sherwani and a saffron turban, arrived on horseback in traditional style to marry his bride. The couple were married in England on March 3 and have come to this Rajasthani town for an Indian wedding. The other guests were attired in white kurta pyjamas, while the ladies wore pink Indian dresses, including saris.
There were 10 horses as part of the 'barat' wedding procession.
After the barat reached its designated place, some of the guests from Hurley's side received them. Hurley, dressed in a pink lehnga and choli, embroidered with zarcosi, and Nayar sat on a specially-constructed marble platform decorated with flowers and rangoli designs for the ceremony.
"Five priests blew the conch shell first after which the couple tied the knot amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. They also took rounds of the holy fire," the hotel sources said.
The priests also translated the Sanskrit verses into English for the foreign guests.
Later, the newly weds and their guests went to the Mehrangarh Fort nearby for a grand wedding party.
However, a big scuffle broke out between some Indian media persons there and Hurley's private guards.
The media persons alleged that Hurley's security personnel misbehaved with them.
The police were trying to sort out the matter, when reports last came in.
