Chhapaak released on 10th January 2020 and is based on a real-life story. The film is not for the faint hearts as it gives an unadulterated reality check. The Deepika Padukone starrer has awakened a lot of unknown facts about the struggles of acid attack survivors.

The team of Chhapaak has even released a lot of BTS from the film and the hard work that has gone to make the it. The makers have has left no part untouched and has also been molded from scratch.

The real-life acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal who was the inspiration for the movie has fought and won the battle to ban the sale of acid.

Deepika Padukone has delivered what many are calling her best performance ever as Malti in the movie and her acting skills have been lauded by industry peers, critics and the audience alike.

Chhapaak has been declared tax-free in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. The government of Madhya Pradesh has also announced a huge campaign against the illegal sale of acid. Adding to it, Uttarakhand government has declared a monthly pension scheme for the acid-attack survivor. Various states are giving their own positive contribution after the release of the film and this is a win-win situation for the film.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, produced by Fox Star Studios, Deepika Padukone's KA Production, Meghna Gulzar & Govind Singh Sandhu's Mriga Films, written by Atika Chohan and Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak released on 10th January 2020 nationwide.
