Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar says his new movie is about the clash of cultures when an Indian farmer marries a girl from London.

Kumar said the movie "Namastey London,''' was based on a true story of an Indian friend, which he described to director Vipul Shah.

Kumar stars alongside Katrina Kaif, who plays an Indian girl brought up in London and forced by her father to marry a man from India. While Kaif pines for her British boyfriend, Kumar focusses on winning over his new bride.

"The film is essentially about being true to your roots,'' he told Filmfare magazine in its March issue. "'Namastey London' is about love, pride in one's country, and passion for life.''
