Talking about why he signed for ‘Virrudh', Sushant says, "The role, the very concept appealed to me. My character is a well defined male character, which is usually not found in television. The serials are usually more women centric."
Well, we agree with you Sushant, but what about the role? Sushant says that in ‘Virrudh' he plays a crime reporter, by the name of Sushant, who can go to any extend to know the truth. He has a set rule for himself and does not budge from it. He wants transparency in his relationship; even with his boss.
If you thought that this was the only soap offer he has received thus far, you are mistaken. For Sushant has received a number of offers, but did not accept them as they were from the saas-bahu kind of serials which he does not like. Moreover, they were asking for 15-20 days a month which he could not give because he's also doing films. The story did not bore him at all.
Sushant has a number of films lined up of release. While ‘Red' has already hit the screen, ‘Mukbir' is awaiting release. And Sushant has great expectations from ‘Mukbir' in which he plays a Hyderabadi don. ‘Sholey' where he plays the role of ‘Sambha' is soon to follow.
At the same time, Sushant is thrilled over working with Smriti Irani. Talking about her, Sushant says, "It was fantastic. I had not fore seen that she is such a good producer but happy that I have come to know the truth. She is trying to do something which has not been done before and thus I agreed working with her."
Although quite seasoned in Bollywood now, Sushant says that he has some romantic scenes with Smriti Irani in Virrudh and at times he found difficult doing them.
"Yes it was difficult. I did not know Smriti very well and it was difficult for me to do the scenes with her. Moreover, I jut know of her screen image and that made things difficult for me.
I must admit that on the first day I was very stiff but thanks to my director everything went off well and I did something close to distinction," he says candidly. - (SAMPURN)
