He has now roped in Shilpa and her sister Shamita Shetty to appear on the show.
Says Shilpa, "How can I refuse Karan? No one says no to him. I'll be coming back from London in April to record my Koffee instalment with Karan. Shamita will be on the show with me. He also wanted my mother to join us. But you know how my mom is? She has declined."
Shilpa will be discussing her entire Big Brother experience for the first time on Indian television, and also the impact it had on her family.
Definitely a coup for Karan. But hold on. He plans to bring on an even bigger blend of celebrities in a future episode.
Karan actually intends to bring together the Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan with Aishwarya Rai, plus maybe Jaya Bachchan too.
Ambitious? "Well the guest list has to get bigger and more ambitious, don't you think? Otherwise what's the point of having the show", reasons Karan.
We also hear that in a Sky One documentary, Shilpa is going to spill some more beans about herself. The documentary tells the story of her life before she won Britain's Celebrity Big Brother reality television show. In it 'real Shilpa Shetty' admits to having had a nose job, while a top fashion designer helped her find her fashion look.
The documentary also looks at her personal life and the string of actors and directors she has been linked with.
It even reveals a storm over by photographs of her navel - while her pictures of her younger sister Shamita also caused outrage.
Shilpa was little known in the UK prior to the Channel Four show and her career was said to be flagging before she took part.
But Metro, the movie she made shortly before going into the show, is now set to be a huge success.
