In their third venture together, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra have transitioned from romantic comedy to dark comedy. The first look posters of Dibakar Banerjee's 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' were dropped only yesterday and YRF has outed the trailer, too, today. In a hilarious twist, the makers have pulled a pun on the names of the two title characters. Parineeti plays Sandeep Kaur, an ambitious corporate girl and Arjun plays Pinky Dahiya, a brooding cop from Haryana.

Sandeep is a quirky corporate professional and in the middle of a crisis. How her life intertwines with Pinky in her attempts to flee is the plot. Sandeep mistakes Pinky for a cab driver and asks him to help her run away. They are believed to be absconding together but often show hostility to each other. They assume fake identities and talk of crossing the border and procuring fake passports for the same. The duo pulls off their part with conviction and viewers feel engrossed in the thriller. Being a Dibakar Banerjee directorial, the film is edgy. Watch the trailer here:



Arjun debuted with 'Ishaqzaade' opposite Parineeti in 2012 which was a critical and box office success. Their second venture together was the 2018 'Namaste England', a romantic comedy. Parineeti was last seen in 'Jabariya Jodi' and Arjun was seen in Ashutosh Gowarikar's period drama 'Panipat. Parineeti has completed her work for the mystery thriller 'The Girl on the Train' and will also be seen in Badminton player Saina Nehwal's biopic 'Saina'. Arjun's upcoming project is Kaashvie Nair's 'Chale Chalo'.

'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar' is an upcoming dark comedy film directed by Dibakar Banerjee. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Pankaj Tripathi, Archana Puran Singh, Kanwaljeet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Jaideep Ahlawat, Amrita Puri, and Rahul Kumar. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films and is set to release on 20th March 2020.
