Crew of a Bollywood film were detained Thursday after they changed the name of one police station with another in the national capital, police said.

The crew of "Sunday" were detained at Tughlaq Road police station for changing its name to Chanakyapuri police station. They were released after they offered a written apology.

Actor Ajay Devgan, who is playing lead role in the film, was present there.

"According to the film script, the crewmembers wanted to shoot at a police station that was set up before 1950. We therefore gave permission for Tughlaq Road police station," a senior official said.

The crew was given permission for April 5 as most of the police staff were on duty for Delhi civic polls.

The matter came to notice Thursday evening when senior police officials observed change in the name of the police station.

"We didn't give such permission to change the name for even a few minutes of confusion could affect many lives in the capital," the official added.
