Directors like Pradeep Sarkar and Raj Kumar Hirani have grown by leaps and bounds under the patronage of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Same goes for actress Vidya Balan who
was given a classy launch pad in Chopra's Parineeta.
While the talented duo of directors and the new star on the block, will remain faithful to Chopra for giving them
their first break, there is another lesser talked about person ,who also exposes the humane side of Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Anuradha Singh, his ex assistant has
nothing but words of praise for the Eklavya director who she says funded her education.
"I was Vidhuji's assistant in the film 'Mission Kashmir'. It was his very talented ex wife and Editor, the late Renu Saluja who encouraged me to take up editing. I consider her
my Guru.
And know what, Vidhu ji paid more than half of my fee at FTTI, thus helping me in my graduation. I owe a lot to him, for what I today," says Singh who
has now come on her own, editing the soon to be released Hollywood film Marigold and the American TV movie Blood Monkey and also happens to be the first female Indian
editor to work in LA.
Be it from any corner, talent hardly seems to escape this man. Hats off to you, Mr. Chopra! - (SAMPURN)
