The director was shocked when Sarika ended up laughing just when they were about to record the song.
"It was funny. The prank was more on the music director Sagar Desai than on the director. Poor Desai didn't know what he was getting in to.
Vasundra Das had already recorded the song when I expressed my desire to sing this song; both the director and the music director got very excited however I know that I can't sing to save my life. When Ballary and Desai heard my voice, they didn't know what hit them. But, they both could not tell me straight on my face. It was really funny.
However, I told them that I was joking. they were surprised as they never expected me to play a prank on them", she says
she says further on leaving designing costumes, "After Hey Ram, I realized that I had nothing more to explore or offer as a costume designer. I did a lot of research considering that it was a historical project but after that I thought that I have had enough. It is one thankless job and I don't want to do it anymore."
she also doesn't deny the fact that she wouldn't mind doing commercial films as long as they don't categorise her abilities, "It is not that I only want to do offbeat films. I don't categorise anything. I have only one thing in mind and that is to do a good film and a good script.
It does not matter if it is a commercial film, I will lap it up as I have a very clear idea of what I have to do. I sat on Parzania for three years and when the film finally released, people knew what I could deliver. I don't want to do anything unrealistic and my bottom line is that I want to enjoy what I am doing.
Please don't ask me to do something that you would be uncomfortable doing yourself. The frequency of roles has always been there and when I made my comeback, there was a great amount of curiosity about my comeback.
But the worst part was that the offers I was getting were not really okay. However, when I used to refuse, they would say that I have lost it.
The problem is that if Sarika disagrees means that she has lost it. I was fine with that but thankfully things have changed and the offers coming in are much better. I am happy at the roles I am getting."
