/> Even as Priyadarshan has announced his plans to re-make the Malayalam hit Manichthrathazhu, Hyderabad-based director Narren Aditya has gone into a shock over the announcement.

"How can Priyadarshan remake a film that I've already bought the rights to remake? This is something that happened without my knowledge and I regard it as a great betrayal.

The Hyderabad producer K.S. Rama Rao of Creative Commercials (Hyderabad) took the rights of the Malayalam original from producer K.S. Appachan. I negotiated between Mr Appachan and Mr Rao.

The producer of the original Malayalam film didn't even know Mr Rao I took the project to Mumbai and promoted it there. I've met Mr Amitabh Bachchan for the lead role and he showed interest.

I made the Chandramukhi project hot. Now because Mr Rao has got an an extra crore from T Series he has sold off the rights to T Series without my knowledge. This is not done ! I'm planning to take legal action Mr Rao for damages. He has betrayed not only a filmmaker like me but also a legend like Mr Bachchan."

Narren Aditya wonders how Akshay Kumar could take such a keen interest in in the Chandramukhi project without being aware that it was being negotiated with another director and a legend like Amitabh Bachchan.

"How could Akshay Kumar insist on Priyadarshan when he knew I was going to direct Chandramukhi in Hindi? Since the project had gone to Mr Bachchan through me I was willing to pay the producer the money and buy out the remake rights. Now my career is affected. It's illiegal immoral and unethical."

Narren Aditya plans to take legal action against the producer K.R Rama Rao and the proposed project from T Series. "Whatever Priyan says he cannot remake the original Malayalam film. Because the rights were sold in Tamil and Telugu to Shivaji Films.

The Hindi rights were bought by K.S Rama Rao from the original Malayalam producer. I may not have financial rights over the Hindi re-make. But it's my baby. I did all the dog's work for the project. The agreement papers are with me.When I heard someone else is making it I was stunned. I'm going through trauma.

My wife has undergone a surgery and now this! What face do I show Mr Bachchan? I believe T Series and Priyadarshan want to make typical comedy out of Chandramukhi. I was going to make it into a refined classical aesthetic experience. "

Narren Aditya is determined to go ahead with his own version, regardless of T Series and Priyan's plans. "My version of the screenplay has nothing to do with what these people are doing. And there's a lot of difference between Mr Bachchan and Akshay Kumar."

Bhooshan Kumar of T Series Replies : "Narren Aditya has written to me with his grievances. I believe he was verbally committed to make the film with K.S. Prakash Rao. Because the producer got a good offer from us, he sold us the rights and we're making it with Priyadarshan.

On what grounds will Narren Aditya take legal action? Verbal commitments mean nothing in this industry. Hrithik Roshan committed himself verbally to so many people after Kaho Na....Pyar Hai, even took signing amounts.

Then what happened....See, the Tamil version modified the Malayalam original to suit Rajnikant's image. We're doing the same to suit the image of the Akshay-Priyan combo. Audiences do expect laughter from them. So we're adding a dash of comedy to the original.

But it won't be an out-and-out comedy. So far we've been doing joint ventures. This will be T Series' first solo venture. It's a departure from whatever we've done so far, and also very different from the films being made these days. Initially we were trying for Aishwarya Rai for the female lead. But she had date problems. So we opted for Vidya Balan. "
