Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishen has hiked his fees in Bhojpuri films three times after 'Big Boss' to do just five films a year. A versatile actor, Ravi says he is ready to do any
kind of role provided the audience accepts it.
However, he clarifies that he will be seen less on TV. He will be seen as a movie jockey in Sahara's Filmy channel on
April 29 to promote Bhojpuri films in his inimitable style.
He is aware of the responsibility of promoting his films before a non-Bhojpuri speaking audience. He is happy with his new role which will keep him in direct contact with the
audience.
Since he is in contract with Sahara's Filmy channel, he is not supposed to do similar projects with other channels. The movie jockey, he claims 'is first of its kind in the
history of television.'
Denying any differences with Manoj Bajpai in the film '1971', Ravi says that both have always been great friends. He blamed the media for blowing out a non-issue out of
proportions.
Regarding Rahul Roy opting out 'Cocaine', Ravi claims 'he suddenly wanted to pursue his career in acting and I wanted a full time director for this movie
otherwise the project would have suffered.'
He adds 'it's a unique story of a Mumbaiya drug peddler, played by me, who goes to London to make big in the business
of drugs and is killed by his girlfriend there.' The film will be shot in London and talks are almost final with Konkana Sen for the lead role.
Asking people not to read too much in to his proposed campaign for Rahul Gandhi at Amethi for a day, the actor says he was convinced after talking with the Gandhi heir
that he meant business. However, he ruled out joining politics. -
