India is a land of many unsung superheroes. One of the younger ones being Shakuntala Devi who pinned the country on the global map. She is popularly known as the `human computer` for her ability to mentally solve complex mathematical problems, and has also earned a place in The Guinness Book of World Records in 1982.

Now, a film is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video which will bring us the biopic of Shakuntala Devi where Vidya Balan will be essaying her role. Vidya is once again back in a film based on real life events after No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture and Mission Mangal.

One of the most celebrated for her unique abilities, Google also dedicated a doodle honouring her on her 84th birth anniversary. The Doodle showed calculator font along with the picture of Shakuntala Devi. A national hero, Shakuntala Devi is celebrated as a world class educator who took the nation to greater heights.


The film upcoming stars Vidya Balan, Sanya Malhotra, and Amit Sadh. Shakuntala Devi is directed by Anu Menon produced by Abudantia Entertainment. The film is all set to release on 31st July 2020 on Amazon Prime Video.

The much awaited trailer of the film recently released and has been receiving appreciations from B-town and the audience alike. Everyone loved the trailer and has high expectations from the film as it looks like a promising one. It is commendable how mainstream cinema has a story about a hero who continues to inspire one and all.
