Petitioner Senthil Kumar had sought a court order staying the production and release of the film, alleging the story of the film, attributed to Kamal, had been plagiarised. The actor plays 10 different roles in the film.
The court asked to be given copies of the story in sealed covers from both the parties. After examining the stories, the court concluded that the two stories were entirely different.
The court Friday found that Kumar's story was contemporary while Kamal's script spanned the period from 12th to 21st century.
The court, however, rejected a plea against mentioning details of the story in its judgment in order to protect the commercial interests of the producers, Oscar Films.
