Says Shailesh Kapoor, Marketing and Content head Filmy, "We always take into account of the viewers' interest and try our best to keep the telecast of any movie to minimum repeats, lest the audience starts shy away from channel."
Every movie channel acquires the satellite telecast rights of movies for a standard period of five years by what they get the liberty of airing those films any number of times.
Similarly, Sahara One holds the rights of telecast of successful movies like 'Sandwich', 'No Entry' and 'Malamaal Weekly' which were being telecast on both the channels of the entertainment conglomerate several times a month. In the absence of a proper scheduling the viewers ended up watching the same movies every alternate day on either of the channels.
A spokesperson from Filmy said, "We had restricted the telecast of these movies to 3-4 times a month but due to more telecasts on our parent channel the viewers misinterpreted Filmy as the accused and mails to stop airing these movies started pouring in."
After this the channel had no options but to ban all the three movies for next few months. Confirming this, Shailesh Kapoor says, 'we have decided not to telecast 'Sandwich', 'No Entry' and 'Malamaal Weekly' for next few months and will present fresh titles instead'.
A good example of 'Jagruk Janta's' revolution, without a doubt! -
