How many times was he slapped by Bina Kak in the film, Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya, asked one bright spark. Would he invite them to his marriage, said another in right earnest. These mentally challenged children grilled Bollywood star Salman Khan when he went to spend some time with them here last Friday.
Umang, an organisation that works for the welfare of mentally challenged students in Jaipur, looks after the welfare of these children and the glow in their eyes was to be seen to be believed. True to type, Salman himself was no less glowing and happy to be among them.
Salman, who arrived along with Rajasthan's former tourism minister Bina Kak at Umang, was garlanded by the school kids. He immediately struckl a chord with them by recalling his childhood.
"We had sent SMS to many of thecelebrities, and Salman responded and came here," Deepak Kalara of Umang told the press the next day. Two of Umang students also presented special cards to Salman.
These cards were prepared by the kids who painted Salman's photograph on them. Some other students of Umang broke into songs on seeing their favourite star entering the school. Salman also danced with the kids and distributed gifts among them.
One of the students, Neha, requested the actor to ask their teacher to give them an official holiday on April 19, as they heard that Salman was getting married on that day! "I'll attend Salman's wedding and will wear a lehenga," Neha was said to have beamed.
