His The Blue Umbrella has just been filmed by Vishal Bhardawaj with child artiste Shreya Sharma and Pankaj Kapur. Vishal is another 'children's specialist' though he has also adapted adult Shakespeare tragedy 'Othello' into Omkara.
Fun on the Run is Urmila's second literary adaptation after Pinjar and also her second children's film after Chhota Chetan. It makes it more interesting because the sex icon was herself a runaway hit as a child artiste in Masoom.
Fun on the Run is about the adventures of two kids on the run, and all the people they meet on the way. Towards the end of the film they meet Urmila who plays a music teacher.
The only not-so-cute part is that Urmila has just two scenes in the film. But, kids, never mind. "What a pleasure it was to work with these two child actors," she has said. "I always want to connect with kids. Not much is done for them in the way of education and entertainment."
Apart from this, Urmila is also doing an item song in her godfather's much-publicised film Ram Gopal Varma Ke Sholay, which marks her return to the RGV camp after a considerable gap. She also has an item number in producer-friend Harry Baweja's Speed. -
