Says Gupta, "This Bollywood concert was unlike any other live event from Bollywood. The idea was born from a desire to showcase the songs from our forthcoming film Shoot-Out At Lokhandwala. All the songs from the film were performed live on stage by the singers and bands who've performed for the film.
In another segment we had various actresses dancing to hit songs from our production company. In a third segment the group Aryan performed their track from Woodstock Villa while the film's lead Sikandar Kher and Neha Oberoi danced."
Diya Mirza who plays a news correspondent in Shoot-out At Lokhandwala hosted the show.
Says Gupta, "Frankly Ekta's Balajee Telefilms and my White Feather production company never planned the event for my birthday. It just happened that way. We did our best to give the evening a twist that won't be forgotten too easily."
As for his seemingly strange collaboration with Ekta Kapoor Sanjay Gupta laughs. "We may be very different from the outside. But we're basically similar in our work ethics. We live and die for our work. Ekta and I are having a ball making movies together."
As he crosses 40 Sanjay who has been divorced for three years, craves to start a new family. "I know my life partner is somewhere out there. I just need to find her."
