Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Special court rejects Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea!
On Wednesday, after getting arrested by NCB over drug charges Rhea Chakraborty was moved to Byculla Jail, the only prison for women in Mumbai where Sheena Bora murder accused Indrani Mukerjea and Bhima-Koregaon case accused Sudha Bharadwaj also have been lodged in the same prison. On September 8th, the court had rejected her bail plea and sent her to judicial custody till September 22nd and booked under Section 27 A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Today, the special court heard the bail plea of Rhea and her brother Showik and also pronounced the bail orders of co-accused and alleged drug peddlers, Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra. But her bail plea has been rejected by the special court and along with Showik Chakraborty, Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant & Samuel Miranda. Check out ANI tweet here -



Meanwhile, Showik and other accused have been sent in judicial custody till September 23 and Rhea till September 22nd. If in case they found guilty over accused drug charges then they may have to face up to ten years imprisonment.

On the other side, Rhea had stated in a bail plea that she is innocent and accused the NCB of 'falsely implicating' her in the case. It is also claimed that she was 'forced into making self-incriminatory confessions' on the day of her arrest.

Rhea and brother Showik had approached the court under NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) after the Magistrate court rejected their bail requests on Wednesday. Now, all the six accused are likely to move the Bombay High Court shortly for bail.
