Rituparno Ghosh's 2-year old Ingmar Bergmanesque chronicle of a crumbling marriage Dosar has been selected for this year's Cannes film festival in the prestigious 'Les
Cinema Du Monde' section.
Devoted to filtering the best of world cinema, this section is notable for bringing auteur cinema from the worldover under one umbrella.
"The last time I participated at Cannes it was for Chokher Bali. I've never participated in the du Monde section. Funnily I've made three films after Dosar. But Dosar is my
last-released film.
In fact next year I think I'll spend all my time doing post-production. I've Khela and Sunglass ready for release. Last Lear I've just started editing."
Dosar is to be screened at Cannes on May 20. Ritu wants to be accompanied by cinematographer Aveek Sarkar. "He did the black-and-white photography of Dosar. And
he's the true hero of the film."
