National Award winning filmmaker T Rajeevnath has just completed filming his controversial project Anubhav (the story of an actor-turned-gigolo) starring Sanjay Suri, Gul
Panag and Raj Zutshi and he is now all set to launch his next Hindi venture, hugely inspired by none other than the 1942 cult classic, Casablanca.
Rajeevnath has already written the script for his next film, which is loosely based on Casablanca.
Rajeevnath says he is very keen on signing on Shah Rukh Khan to essay the flamboyant role of Rick Blaine that Humphrey Bogart had played in the original.
He intends meeting him soon to narrate hissubject and hopes to convince him to do his project.
A R Rahman is already roped in to compose the music for the film which he intends to shoot in Andaman Islands and Shimla towards the end of this year.
"I decided to adapt Casablanca and make a desi version inspired by it because this film has defied all kinds of genres for the last five decades in cinema and can be called a
romantic thriller with a difference," he concludes.
