Well professionally I am doing my first Hindi feature film called 'Riwaaz'. It is an issue based movie and a very interesting story. It is about a village where all the women are prostitutes and all the men are pimps. I am playing the main lead, a city boy who goes to the village for his friend's sister's wedding. Very hard hitting and volatile subject.
Who is your co-star in the movie?
There is a new girl Ritishaa. There are three girls actually including her. The others are Meghna Naidu & Saadhika Randhawaa. Also there is my real father-in-law Rajendra Gupta in the role of my father in the film. Then there is Deepti Naval, Yashpal Sharma and Alok Nathjee. You can say there is a list of veterans in the movie.
Have you been keeping a distance from television projects?
Not really. I was actually been busy with this film but from May 7 my new show is coming up on Sahara One. It is called 'Babul Ki Bitiya Chali Doli Saja Ke' produced by Aruna Irani. Here Barkha Bisht is paired opposite me. We have been shooting for this show for very long but due to World Cup it was postponed. Finally it's coming on air now.
What about the actors leaving and coming in the show?
Well, see it's a TV show and things of this sort happen occasionally.
As it is a daily soap and you took a very short break post marriage, how will you manage time for your personal life?
That's the reason we took a break in January. We travelled across Thailand. We went to Pataya, Phuket and Bangkok. We had a blast actually.
Then don't you think days will become busier and hectic for you, once your show comes on air? You know how are things with a daily soap?
See, it depends from person to person. Everybody has his/her own capacity to deliver. I would say that this hoopla of hectic schedules in television is created by media. The so called hectic timings were there in television before too and I have very well gone through such conditions. However, for this show we have been shooting since long, hence have sufficient episodes in bank.
I have also heard about a show called 'Shaadi Street', are you doing any such thing?
Yeh it is a show produced by Deepti Bhatnagar. It is a one hour weekly show made for Star Plus. As I have heard, it is definitely going on air in June.
