Several reports have been doing the rounds about YRF's 50 years of celebration. The big-budget production house of Indian cinema will be completing its 50 years in 2020. As per the hearsay, Aditya Chopra, the chairman of YRF was about to announce its YRF Project 50 slate on 27 September but now it has been learned that the filmmaker has postponed the announcement.

The postponement of the announcement follows Aditya's decision of bringing people back to the cinemas, a trade source confirmed. The source revealed, "This is a massive move by Aditya Chopra. While the media and entertainment industry is reeling with the coronavirus pandemic and there is no fixed date when the theatres will reopen, Adi has decided that he will wait for the theatres restart and do his entire slate announcement in cinemas! Adi is backing the exhibition industry completely and he wants people to see the biggest slate announcement from the biggest production house on the big screen!" This also comes after the ongoing hustle in the Hindi film industry and the country. In these sensitive times when the whole limelight is on the ongoing drug probe in Bollywood, YRF has precisely learned that it would not be their best decision to announce their mega-budget projects right now. Aditya Chopra will be revealing his big projects with big stars of B-town on the big screen once the theatres re-open. Chopra is of the view that his upcoming films are meant for big-screen experience and would also like to clarify that his films will not go for digital streaming.

Speaking about the same, a source said, "We can expect the slate announcement to happen as soon as theatres open nationwide. Adi will definitely plan something big for his massive slate to be unveiled to the people of India. Since the plan is to announce the slate in theatres worldwide, common sense tells us that it is definitely going to be an audiovisual launch. We are keeping a close eye on this to figure out what YRF is strategizing on the same. Rest assured, it will be a huge talked-about moment,"
