If reports making the rounds in Bollywood are to be believed, filmmaker J P Dutta is planning to make a movie on the last Mughal king Bahadur Shah Zafar.
Though
Dutta had envisaged this project a long time back, he could never get things in place to make his movie titled Aakhri Mughal (The Last Moghul).
And now, after
making Umrao Jaan last year, Dutta seems to be in a mood for another period flick, for he is reviving the long-shelved ‘Aakhri Mughal'.
Sources say Dutta wants none other than Amitabh Bachchan to play the aging king Bahadur Shah Zafar in the film.
And since Dutta has cast Abhishek Bachchan
in every single movie since ‘Refugee', the buzz is strong that Abhi will play Bahadur Shah's son Mirza Mughal in the film. Grapevine even has it that Aishwarya Rai will also
be part of the film's cast!
If so happens, the movie will have three members of the Bachchan clan!
Dutta wants to start his ‘Aakhri Mughal' soon because Ketan Mehta is thinking of making a movie each on Rani Laxmi Bai and Bahadur Shah Zafar. - (SAMPURN)
