Nothing he does is ever half-hearted, but one role that Amitabh Bachchan plays particularly well is that of the dutiful son in real life.

He finds time every day from his increasingly busy schedule to be by the side of his ailing parents. Litterateur Harivansh Rai Bachchan and his wife, Teji, both in the 80s, have been unwell for quite some time.With as many as six films on the floors, the 60-plus megastar shoots virtually round the clock and yet he manages to keep in constant touch with his parents. He calls them at least a dozen times during the day to enquire about their health.

"Earlier I used to have meals with them, says the actor and a gentleman, "but on doctors` advice they have to retire early and I am not even back by then." So he drives down after pack-up every night to ensure that his parents are comfortable. It is not without reason that Amitabh Bachchan is a role model to millions!
