Luv Ranjan, popular for making films like 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' and 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety', the filmmaker is now gearing up for his another production. Luv, under his banner Luv films, is making a silent film named 'Uff' which is to be helmed by Durgavati director G Ashok.

Based on a novel concept, the film is said to be a silent comic thriller and will star Tumbbad actor Sohum Shah, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Omkar Kapoor, and Nora Fatehi. The storyline of the film is yet to be revealed while it seems a blend of multiple genres.

"This is a special project for Luv Films, with a dose of humour and suspense and it will go on floors in January next year. Other actors of the film will also be announced in due course of time. Director Ashok has locked the final draft and will kick-off the pre-production once he is done with the final print of Durgavati,` said a media source. 'Uff' will be made as a web film for a popular digital streaming giant.

'Uff' will be the return of silent films in the Hindi film industry after a really long gap. Bollywood had left trying out in the genre a long time ago and the last classic silent film that one can remember was Kamal Haasan's Pushpak that was released over three decades back in 1984. Well, it would be quite interesting to learn how Luv Ranjan's silent comic thriller goes.

Talking about Nushrratt's other lined-up projects, the actress will be seen in Hansal Mehta's 'Chhalaang', a comedy-drama film that stars Rajkumar Rao in the lead role with her. The film will release on Amazon Prime Video on 13 November.
