Vijay Ishwar Pawar, better known as V.I.P Comedian was born in Dharavi, also known as the heart of Mumbai, and Dharavi is probably where he gets his heart from. He recently put out a video urging people and housing societies, to not discriminate between the well-bred expensive dogs to stray dogs.



Even during the lockdown, V.I.P Comedian had put out a video of his daughter feeding stray dogs, encouraging people to feed the animals in these difficult times.

The distressing part is that many dog lovers, caretakers are objected, abused and also physically attacked for this harmless, noble act. In our research to understand the legalities, we were informed that - feeding dogs within as well as outside any residential society is legally permissible and what is illegal is threatening dog feeders from performing their fundamental duty under Article 51A(g) of the Constitution of India.

India is a land of Religion, culture and beliefs. In the majority of Indian households, rural as well as urban, when people cook, they reserve a portion of the food for cows, dogs, and birds. It is an inherent part of Indian beliefs. Many animals considered pets elsewhere have a ritual, spiritual and symbolic importance in India. In no other part of the world nonviolence and compassion to animals is given so much emphasis. This gesture of VIP and his family further emphasizes the ethos for which we as a nation inherently stands for. VIP comedian proves to be a VIP by heart.
