‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’: Hayden Christensen Returning As Darth Vader In Disney+ Series
`The most beautiful thing of all,` Ewan McGregor said today about the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, part of Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise. McGregor made the comment in an Obi-Wan Kenobi featurette played during Disney Investor Day where Christensen's casting was announced.

Christensen was a discovery by George Lucas, an unknown actor when he took on the role of grown-up Anakin Skywalker, the father of Luke and Leia who turns to the dark side of The Force and becomes Darth Vader. Christensen made his debut in Episode II: Attack of the Clones and then continued into Revenge of the Sith. We literally see Anakin's demise and meltdown as he becomes Vader.

Placing this spinoff series directly after and in explicit dialogue with Kenobi and Christensen's tete-a-tete in Revenge of the Sith implies quite an interesting direction for the series, which has being shepherded by writer Joby Harold (Army of the Dead) after the original staff was abruptly sent home by Kennedy due to unhappiness with the scripts.
