‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot Is Done, Hilary Duff Reveals!
It was what dreams are made of, until it wasn't. Hilary Duff broke the news to Lizzie McGuire fans today that the reboot of her wildly popular Disney show of the early aughts is officially not moving forward. In a message posted on her Instagram today, Duff revealed that the Disney+ series was canceled before it even premiered on the streaming platform.

`I've been so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life,` she began. `She has made such a lasting impact on many, including myself. To see the fans' loyalty and love for her, to this day, means so much to me. I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work, but sadly & despite everyone's best efforts, it isn't going to happen.

`I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It's what the character deserves,` Duff continued. `We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I'm very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn't align. Hey now, this is what 2020's made of.`

Not long after Minsky's exit, Duff hinted that the series had been put on pause because Disney+ didn't approve of its adult themes or content. The Lizzie McGuire reboot was set to feature a 30-year-old Lizzie `navigating the ups and downs of adulthood.` Just days later, Duff publicly requested that the series be moved from Disney+ to the Disney-owned Hulu.
